Sunday 30th June 2002 There was some stuff from Calamaty to her mates here but I'm afraid I blew it and lost em. Ho Hum. She'll have to type em all in again won't she.... I am now going to write my piece, it will be a brief account of yesterday and today because I am exceedingly tired!! so, yesterday was wet and today was better but still wet and cold!! i think our 38 miles yesterday and 45 miles today was a fairly good achievement as the weather was excruciatingly horrible. The caravan is toooo small for the seven of us no matter what they have or have'nt said! i really hope the sun appears soon or else theres goin 2 be trouble! The rest of the team have had discussions about having a big brother on the web for us! so far all their suggestions have been that i sleep in a tent in the rain! i dont know what will become of the discussions just don't vote for me cos it's really cold up here! hi to every one back home and i hope the weather is really horrible! hi annie just to say that my emails are unaccessible and u could email me on the address mentioned on the website, mesg23@dial.pipex.com.... hi tiffany, paddy, vev, flissy(hope ladys well) nats, (have a nice time in turkey) love to all the family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx well, since i last woz ere, we did 100 miles!! cool, though it was really easy and i wanted to do more! i am excruciatingly jealous at how bow is never tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and at every campsite he has made no less than two friends at each one!! i hope we get some better weather and that the wind will give up soon! i suppose today was quite a nice rest day and a little 40 miles was easily achieved! the caravan seems to be getting slightly bigger ! as bow is always out playing, jack is sleeping and the rest appear to be avoiding me! i have been very considerate and decide that habys bday presssy will be 'i will be nice to her for a whole day!' (wish me luck)!! i'd like to say a big hi to everyone and grandma (i'm not in the tent yet) fi (i am replying to your email) fliss , paddy and co(look after that cat) claire and sarah (give ellie a BIG kiss for me (thanx) rachel md(you should have come with us!) ZARD (is david walking yet, big kiss to rubsy) grandad (thanx for the radio mention-very cool!) hope the weather is worse there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wish me luck for the grampians ! i am very very excited about being stuck in the middle of the gigantic 80 mile crossing i will be embarking on for the next 2 days ! WE MAY LOSE COMPLETE CONTACT.............................................................if your lucky................................. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx well, two days later were back and i made it ! the grampians were fabulous and i did the unbearable task of saying goodbye to those excruciatingly horrible hills to climb and the amazing down hills !! ab fab only i could'nt go past the 43 mph mark! we have now officially left the mountains for good! timotei arrived today much to the appreciation of chris,-he does'nt have to put up with dads driving and leaving him in car parks! never mind- rest i suppose! i failed miserably with habys bday pressy!! sorry haby! i have just been informed that we are going straight through the middle of edinburgh(i think thats right???) and i really dont want to !! everyone is tooting and waving , staring and shouting and its really embarrasing! i hope chris isnt putting any embarrasing stuff about me on the diary as i cant access it!! please email me as i need outside contact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im getting claustrophobic in this tight knit unit! bit to close for comfort for some of us!! hi to all the family and friends, i hope you gave ellie a kiss claire! and rubsy a kiss zozo good nite xxxxxxxxxxx hi fi , take care and look after urself ur sis and all ur animals xxxxxxxx love to everyone and i hope i see you all soon!!! xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx today was alright we are in edinburgh and i suppose its ok ! last night we had to stay in a car park by a pub!!!! great fun!!! to night we are in the edinburgh campsite and its very nice!! we have codes to get into the toilets and its weally cool!!! only problem is that i keep forgetting it!!! uh oh! we followed a really cool track here and went over a 1 mile long bridge called the forth road bridge....no exaggerations on 1 mile ! its only taken me an hour to write this so better hurry as haby wants to write something! thanku vvvvvv much fi for my email twas v sweet of u glad rachel is fine after her dofe! hpe u all alright! hi everyone wish me luck 4 tomoro! much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
i made it through another day!!54 miles was achieved today despite having left quite late-10:35am which i feel was mostly dads fault -when everynight mum says to dad -is there any bike maintenance to be done - and dad replies no he always finds something when we are about to leave!! i appear to be the only one that finds this irritating!!today we did edinburgh which seemed to take forever with arguing which way to go!! after lunch-5pm !! we started on our 20 mile route to the campsite which had a few -unneccesary hills it seems- the smallest was about 2 miles long!! we did however get rewarded by some down hilling which was quite cool!! the campsite tonight i feel is very spooky at night and i'm not too keen about sleeping here-never mind- can't have everything! tomorrow we will be entering back into england when we head off for carlisle hello to everyone and see u'z soon!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx yesterday(tuesday) we had a fun time getting through carlisle after dad fell off his bike at the traffic lights and was lying in the middle of the road ! we tried to help but we were in hysterics on the other side of the ride! poor dad! we did our maximum mileage yesterday- 64 miles! 50 of which were done b4 lunch!! last night we slept in a scavvy little campsite in some desolated village between penrith and kendal called shap! delores joined us last night and so we now have our famous irish mummy to care 4 the family, mum is already showing a sign of happiness as delores has washed up and made our morning break snack!
KILLER SHEEP IN SHAP - capabilaty was attacked by a carnivorous sheep that lacerated his finger right through the middle he now is walking round sign swearing at everyone! poor kid! we are in kendal now and i'm off to get some mint cake ! hi to everyone and thanx for my note fi hope u get better and cu in bristol- hi trevor and mark and don't embarras me toooo much in bristol! flashgran- we are having bets about ur body piercing!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx no more killer animals today just huge swans on the canal that i have just fed about 1 loaf of bread- i told them white bread is bad for you but they did'nt really care! today we have done a further 55 1/2 miles today through penetrating rain and some vv nice sun! we camped under some heavy duty electricity pylons last night that fizzed and hissed all night! then to top it off we had a thunderstorm this morning which consisted of buckets of rain , 1 lightning flash and 1 thunder rumble ! great fun! we have done lots of big places today and apparently there's no more until bristol! hi grandma i have'nt told ne 1 but haby!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx well,we're back in da mountains again i have no idea where or which ones just your normal big hills! we came through shrewsbury today which was fun as ever !! we've done 58 miles today and luckily it's been generally flat all is well and we now have land's end well in our mental sights and looking forward to going home not much interesting stuff has happened today really just a lot a peddling! jack took a nasty fall when he looked down at his chain which had come off and looked up to find he was heading straight for a kerb at 30 miles, after a bit of rolling and sliding along the road he finally came to a stop with some bumps and bruises and a nice cog mark in his leg which was a bit bloody! also, delores rode the last 6 miles with us to the campsite which was eventful. hi to all my family and friends love ya loads and have those banners ready cjxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Hey fans, I'm fine, elbow's giving a lot of gip but going to try to carry on - have managed to do 150 miles so far like this. Nearly home, feels great - hope everyone will be at Lands End to cheer me thru. Love CJ
